MySmartPrice, a tech publication, has released detailed specifications for the foldable just two days before its release.

Design and Display

The Magic V’s main display will be a 7.9-inch OLED panel with a screen resolution of 2,272 x 1,984 and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Huawei has verified that the hinge will be “gapless,” making it the thinnest hinge on a foldable smartphone. There will be no selfie camera on the inside display, but one on the 6.45″ cover display.

The cover display will likewise feature an OLED panel with a big 21.3:9 aspect ratio and a faster refresh rate of 120Hz.

Internals and Storage

The Magic V will be the first foldable to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with 12GB RAM and storage options of 256GB/512GB. The phone will come pre-installed with Android 12 and Honor’s upgraded Magic UI 6. The user interface will be designed for the foldable form size, including specialised multitasking functions.

Cameras

On the rear, there will be a triple camera arrangement, with all three lenses being 50MP cameras. This will have a primary wide-angle camera, an ultrawide camera, and what Honor refers to as a “spectrum enhanced camera.” It’s unclear what this third camera is, but it doesn’t sound like a zoom lens.

In China, the Honor Magic V is estimated to cost a stunning $2,200 for the base 256GB variant. It will be offered in three colours: black, white, and yellow.
