The latest WhatsApp scam, Rediroff.com, can be used to steal users’ valuable personal and bank information.

According to reports, scammers are using WhatsApp to trick users into disclosing personal information such as bank and credit card numbers.

It has also been reported that the spam link infects Windows PCs, as well as iOS and Android smartphones.

According to News18, the fraud involves sending a malicious link to WhatsApp users in order to infect their systems. According to CNBC, a considerable number of people have been impacted by the scam, having been enticed by the promise of pricey gifts.

How The Scam Works

When the user clicks on the link, a new page opens in which they are instructed to complete a survey in exchange for a prize. Following completion, the user is led to a page where they must provide information such as their name, age, address, bank information, and other personal information.

Once the information is provided with the scammers, it can be used to conduct fraudulent transactions or for other unlawful activities. The information provided may also be abused to install potentially hazardous and undesired applications on the user’s device.

As a result, any communication containing a Rediroff.com link should be reported as spam and removed.
