Nokia Launches C2 2nd Edition With Multiple Downgrades

HMD Global has introduced the Nokia C2 2nd edition, the successor to the previously released Nokia C2. This smartphone, which was released alongside the Nokia C1 pair, is the company’s latest budget-friendly model.

Except for the metal frame, the C2 2nd Edition has a number of significant flaws when compared to the Nokia C2.

Design & Display

Unlike the Nokia C2, the Nokia C2 2nd edition sports a metal chassis that makes it more resistant to daily hits. However, things only get worse from here.

The handset has a 5.7″ touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 × 960 pixels, which is a significant decrease from the original Nokia C2’s 720 x 1,440 pixels.

Storage & Hardware

The Nokia C2 2nd edition is powered by a new chipset with a quad-core 1.5 GHz CPU, and that’s about all we know about it so far.

The smartphone, on the other hand, runs Android 11 Go Edition and comes with 1/2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The gadget also has a separate microSD card slot on both the single and dual-SIM models, which may give up to 256GB of extra storage.

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, USB OTG, Micro-USB, 3G, and 4G are among the additional connectivity choices (with support for Band 40).

Cameras

The original C2’s 5MP selfie camera has been replaced by a 2MP one with a dedicated LED light this time around.

As a result, the Nokia C2 2nd Edition has a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Battery & Availability

A smaller 2,400 mAh battery powers the 2nd Edition, which also supports basic 5W charging through MicroUSB. One of the more intriguing aspects of this smartphone, however, is that it’s one of the few that still has a replaceable battery.

Aside from the C2 2nd Edition and C1 duo, the Nokia Go Earbuds 2+ was also unveiled at the launch event. The Earbuds have a 300 mAh battery that can be fully charged in 2 hours over USB-C and provide up to 24 hours of gameplay.
