OnePlus 10 Pro Launched With Massive Cameras, 80W Fast Charging and More

The OnePlus 10 Pro, a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the OnePlus 9 Pro, has been made official in China. Almost every aspect has been improved, including a more power-efficient display, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, faster charging, and new features throughout.

Design and Display

The display is a 6.7-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen with 2K resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, 10-bit colours, HDR10+ support, and curved edges on the sides. To save battery life, the LTPO 2.0 technology can reduce the refresh rate of the screen to 1Hz. When possible, the updated LTPO 2.0 can lower the frame rate even further to save battery.

Internals and Storage

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is unsurprising given that it will power nearly all Android flagship phones in 2022. This is combined with 8 to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The new cooling system is “55 percent the size of an A4 paper sheet,” or approximately 340 square centimetres. This should prevent the SD8G1 from overheating during heavy loads, as well as the battery from overheating during fast charging.

In China, the OnePlus 10 Pro will boot Android 12 with ColorOS on top, but we expect OxygenOS in international models.

Cameras

OnePlus has renewed its partnership with Hasselblad for its main camera setup. The primary camera on the back is a 48MP Sony IMX89 sensor with a 1/1.43′′ sensor size, while the ultrawide camera is a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor with a 150-degree FOV. Finally, the 3.3x optical zoom on the 8MP telephoto camera is impressive.

Behind the punch-hole selfie camera is a Sony IMX615 sensor with a 32MP resolution and an f/2.4 lens.

Battery and Pricing

OnePlus has added 80W fast charging to the 5,000 mAh battery, making it the Chinese company’s fastest ever. The wireless charging remains at an impressively fast 50W, which is faster than some other brands’ wired charging.
