Spotify Introduces ‘Friends Mix’ in Celebration of International Friendship Day 2022

With the introduction of “Friends Mix,” Spotify is giving the annual celebration of friendship, known as International Friendship Day, its own melodic spin.

Friends are the ingredients that give life its flavor. Our daily lives are given a special touch by the memories made, the moments shared, and the feelings that develop in this relationship.

Over 11 million user-generated playlists with the word “friend” in their titles are available on Spotify globally, and these playlists have been streamed for more than 763 million minutes.

Unsurprisingly, Gen Z is the group that is pushing the envelope when it comes to using music as a tool for engagement and connecting.

When it comes to the nicest generation, Gen Z streams “friend” playlists more frequently than any other age group, making up 29% of all Spotify users.

Obviously, the people we ask for reliable song recommendations are our friends. One of the motivations behind Spotify’s creation of Blend, which combines the best personalization features of the platform to make it simpler for users to connect and discover music, is this.

The launch of “Friends Mix” highlights Spotify’s ongoing commitment to customization.

The “Friends Mix” service offers custom playlists based on the “Blends” that users have established with their best friends. The brand-new personalized playlist is made to make it easier for people to choose songs that they both enjoy and admire with their friends.

Some of the prominent stars in Pakistan’s melodic scene have frequently used the word “Dosti” or “Friendship” as a topic in their musical works. The link has been prominently shown in a variety of genres, from the legendary “Dosti” performed by the well-known pop pair Nazia and Zoheb Hassan to tunes with the same title, “Dosti,” delivered by Jawad Ahmed and Junoon.

Regardless of a person’s cultural heritage or even physical location, music offers a powerful platform for connection, sharing, and love. With its Collaborative Playlists, Blend Feature, Group Sessions, and now Friends Mix, Spotify provide that connection.

Users can now stream, listen, share, and make new musical mixes with their peers, pushing the limits of how music has previously been streamed.

Is Friends Mix missing from your Made For You Hub? Start by blending.

  • On Spotify, click the search tab and enter “Blend.” Once you’ve chosen a person to Blend with, touch “Invite.”
  • After your buddy accepts the invitation, Spotify will create your shared Blend playlist, which will contain songs and suggestions that are representative of both of your musical tastes. Even better, you may view the music that was added specifically for you and your companion.
  • You’ll each be given personalized share cards to use on social media after your friend has joined the listening party. After then, your Blend will keep updating every day.
  • You’ll be able to listen to a Friends Mix, our brand-new playlist built especially for you, on the Made For Us hub once you’ve made three 2-person Blends (between you and one other buddy). There, you’ll hear music that combines the tastes of your friends.
