Over 11 million user-generated playlists with the word “friend” in their titles are available on Spotify globally, and these playlists have been streamed for more than 763 million minutes.
Unsurprisingly, Gen Z is the group that is pushing the envelope when it comes to using music as a tool for engagement and connecting.

When it comes to the nicest generation, Gen Z streams “friend” playlists more frequently than any other age group, making up 29% of all Spotify users.

The “Friends Mix” service offers custom playlists based on the “Blends” that users have established with their best friends. The brand-new personalized playlist is made to make it easier for people to choose songs that they both enjoy and admire with their friends.

- On Spotify, click the search tab and enter “Blend.” Once you’ve chosen a person to Blend with, touch “Invite.”
- After your buddy accepts the invitation, Spotify will create your shared Blend playlist, which will contain songs and suggestions that are representative of both of your musical tastes. Even better, you may view the music that was added specifically for you and your companion.
- You’ll each be given personalized share cards to use on social media after your friend has joined the listening party. After then, your Blend will keep updating every day.
- You’ll be able to listen to a Friends Mix, our brand-new playlist built especially for you, on the Made For Us hub once you’ve made three 2-person Blends (between you and one other buddy). There, you’ll hear music that combines the tastes of your friends.
