WhatsApp, a Meta-owned instant messaging service, has announced that it is working on a new feature that would allow users to customise their WhatsApp profile cover photos.

“WhatsApp is now working on a new feature for WhatsApp Business accounts: the ability to set a cover photo, which will be available in a future update!” According to WABetaInfo,

WhatsApp Business is working on the new feature right now. It is not planned for conventional WhatsApp user accounts, according to WABetaInfo. “Your Business profile settings will change when the feature is launched for beta testers.” WABetaInfo is aware of the situation.

By adding a camera button to the corporate settings, this functionality will be enabled. “In your Business Settings, WhatsApp plans to introduce a camera option, letting you to choose an existing photo or take a new one to serve as the cover photo.”

When other users, including regular WhatsApp accounts, visit the new business profile, they will be able to see the cover photo. This will work even if the screenshot comes from WhatsApp Business for iOS; according to the firm, “WhatsApp intends to deliver the same capabilities on WhatsApp Business for Android as well.”

The latest feature’s release date has yet to be determined because it is still under development. According to WABetaInfo, users will be notified of any new stories when the service is made available to beta testers.

The Meta-owned app recently released a number of platform updates, including a messaging app that lets iOS users use the new WhatsApp Camera UI. The switch camera icon on WhatsApp has also been modified. A horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen contained your most recent images from your gallery. A new button has replaced the horizontal media bar, which now accesses your gallery directly.
