Xiaomi has released the Mijia Curtain Companion, which can be draped without the need for installation, thanks to crowdsourcing. The equipment supports I-shaped, U-shaped, and Roman pole multi-track operations, allowing the customer to keep their existing curtain rails.
Mijia Curtain Companion transforms any curtain rail into a smart curtain in no time. The smart curtains have an autonomous grasping feature that allows an algorithm to modify the curtains’ fit on its own.
The device also works with Xiaomi’s voice assistant, allowing you to open, close, and control the curtain with just a voice command.
The device can be connected to a Bluetooth mesh gateway, allowing for timed opening and closing. The device also comes with a group control that requires two Companions to work at the same time.
The device is powered by a 6,400mAh battery that can last up to 6 months in long-range mode and 4 months in regular mode. The device can lift drapes weighing up to 12 kilogrammes.
The device will retail for $55, but during the crowdfunding period, it will be available for $47. For original backers, the Roman pole version of the gadget is currently being sold for $55.
