Oppo has revealed the A55s 5G, a new handset in the A55 family. Despite the fact that the phone is called after the Snapdragon 480-powered A55s 5G that was released in Japan in November, it has the same specifications and design as the A55 5G, which was announced in January of last year.
Design & Display
The Oppo A55s 5G, like the A55 5G, sports a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a standard refresh rate of 60W. It also has 4,096 different dimming levels.
The phone comes in three colors: Brisk Blue, Rhythm Black, and Temperament Gold.
Internals & Storage
The phone is powered by a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, which features two Cortex-A76 (2.2 GHz) cores, six A55 (2.0 GHz), and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
It has 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 2GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using the MicroSD slot.
The device runs ColorOS 11.1, which is based on Android 11.
The smartphone comes with a triple camera system that includes a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera is housed in a punch-hole cutout.
Battery & Pricing
The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery that does not allow fast charging. A charger, a USB A to C cable, a protective case, and other basic necessities are included in the Oppo A55s 5G bundle.
In China, the device is already available for pre-order. On the 25th of this month, sales will commence. The standard model will cost $175, while the one with 8GB of RAM will cost $190.
