PTCL Appoints Mohsin Mushtaq Chandna as New Chairman

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Board of Directors has named Mohsin Mushtaq Chandna as its new Chairman.

According to an announcement sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, he will succeed Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput (PSX). Chandna was appointed as the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication’s (MoITTextra )’s secretary last month.

According to the PTCL board’s setup, the federal secretary of the MoITT serves as Chairman of PTCL as a government representative, while the CEO of PTCL is nominated by Etisalat.

Aside from the chairman, the board has eight non-executive directors from the public and private sectors.

Chandna is a Pakistan Administrator Service officer with a background in both government service and the development sector. He has worked for the Pakistani government for over 33 years and for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Pakistan for over a year.

He holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi.
